What to Wear to a Fall Wedding

Dressing for someone else’s wedding can be a challenge. Maybe you’re sick of that comfy black dress you typically wear, but investing in trend-right ensembles every time the season changes can get expensive. This is especially true if you want to avoid being tagged in photos from multiple events wearing the same standout piece.

With fall upon us and cooler temps swirling, the styling process can get even tougher. Gauzy summer dresses are easier to dress up than your average fall ensemble, and bare legs in chilly weather can present a challenge. But if wedding season hasn’t ended for your inner circle and you need some ideas, this post is for you.

When shopping for a particular event, I always try to reach for things that I feel certain I will wear again. A cocktail dress in a neutral hue without beading or ornamentation can be lovely at a wedding but do double duty for your next work event, paired with a blazer and low pumps. On the other hand, something glittery and short that makes you feel fabulous is easily wedding-ready with the right accessories, and will work just as well for your next date night.

Please note: many girls feel it’s weird to wear tights at night, or to formal occasions, but it’s simply not true. A nice black tight or sheer, shiny stockings are not only acceptable but smart, especially if you’re unsure about any outdoor moments scheduled for the evening.
