Comfort & Style with Pink Blush Maternity

IMG_6119

I discovered Pink Blush Maternity when I was pregnant with Willow, and I became obsessed from the first order I received. After having her, their women’s collection became an integral part of my wardrobe. I love the brand for its quality, details, and price. Stylish must-haves for women with busy lives — it doesn’t get much better than that.

It’s made me so happy to see lots of fellow preggos rocking their Pink Blush Maternity lately, as the brand has grown in its reach since my first pregnancy. And this summer, experiencing a whole new type of pregnancy (the type where you literally never get a second to yourself because you’re also taking care of a toddler), comfortable maternity clothes are even more important than last time.

That’s why when I ordered two new Pink Blush Maternity dresses this summer, I went for one loose maxi that flows in the breeze, and another in a jersey knit that stretches to fit just like my favorite yoga clothes would. This Lavender Floral Ruffle Maxi is so lightweight and easy to throw on. It’s an outfit all in one, paired with a simple flat sandal and your favorite sunnies.

And to mix up the all-black-everything trend I had going this spring, I reached for this Black and White Colorblock Maxi Dress that comes in a bunch of fun colors. The top is lined for comfort and discretion, and the dress won’t lose its shape no matter how many hours you put in sweating in it at the park while chasing your toddler. Trust me, I know this from experience.

But here’s the thing: moms and moms-to-be don’t want to just be comfortable. We want to feel cute. This is so important in an age when photographic evidence is everywhere. We’re documenting our go-go-go lifestyles with social media, putting together virtual scrapbooks for our children, and we want to look back and see a mom who was pulled together and stylish. We also don’t want to look like a hot mess, even when we feel like one. Lipstick and cute clothes make a different in how we feel; they just do.

In other words, we might be moms, but we haven’t given up also being women. I hope that any of you reading this who are pregnant with your first will hear me out: things are about to change, but you do not have to lose yourself completely. In fact, I suggest you take the time to rediscover yourself instead.

Being a mom is hard. It’s exhausting at times. But it also wakes you up to a whole new part of your soul that you didn’t know existed before. We moms are Super Women; it might sound cliche but it’s true. To our kids, we are the movers of mountains. To our partners, we are the glue and the center of the family orbit.

Take care of that woman in the middle; nurture her with good food, mental breaks, sunshine, and great fashion. Treat her to a few well-deserved style staples that will work now and after the baby comes. Give her the chance to spend her days feeling comfortable in her own skin, while simultaneously catching glances of her reflection and greeting herself with a smile. She deserves to be reminded of how beautiful she is.

You got this. And mama, you look great. Let your Pink Blush shopping cart help you believe it.
